Elizabeth Bronte was, in Witchblade, the original series, the Bladewielder who immediately preceded Sara Pezzini. A World War II spy, she was killed by Kenneth Irons. It is implied in the TV series that she is biologically Sara's grandmother (and Sara is her reincarnation and is her), also in the television version of Witchblade, Kenneth Irons's Vorschlag Industries engaged in highly suspect genetic manipulation to create and clone at least two versions of Ian Nottingham from Bronte's stem cells.
